Not only are Kiwi kitties hardy, but "Dr. Cave" is one of my profs, and a neurologist! Woo! I feel indirectly famous ;)

Ok I'm sort of living under a rock at the moment (aka New Zealand) so maybe people have seen this before, but omg cute! I want this shirt! (from snorgtees)

I got my hairs cut! The front is not as short as usual, as I opted for a more ambiguous/feminine-ish cut than my usual boy cut. Tell me what you think! Unless you hate it, that is :Plooky looky )

Sashi's grandpa, Sprocket?! (for those who haven't seen the loveable Sasha, I'll ask her moms if it would be ok to post a likeness of her also, she's ADORABLE [they both are]).

Either way, I think they are both descendants of the  )

I feel like I have been posting less than almost everyone on my friends list, alas! I hope you will all forgive me! It's the semester break and I'm not sure what I am going to do with myself, but today I was hating on my hair and decided to use a bandana to hold it back. I hope you find the result as amusing/sexy as I do! ;) I feel like I should post it on birls, and maybe grow a rat tail while I'm at it. Don't worry though, I don't have the patience for that kind of thing! Yeah, I'm in the bathroom, but only because it has much better lighting than my bedroom!

Embarrassing me )

UGH PEOPLE

I was cruising the birls comm before bed tonight, and I stumbled upon this gem in one of the comment sections (for background, the OP was talking about how she doesn't like that giving people a hard time for being fat is taboo, but it's apparently ok to talk about girls who are too skinny and make those girls feel bad about it)

"Amongst my social group "fat" as in like, obese, not-healthy-like is really really looked down upon, if for no reason other than we're very "apocalypse" minded for some reason. You've gotta be able to take care of you.
I like girls with curves but I can't can't can't be attracted to someone who is so heavy their health becomes an issue.
I love curvy girls though. Heavy is fine, some extra pounds = more to love, but when it starts getting dangerous for you it gets about as sexy as meth. Seriously. It's all just stupid decisions that hurt you from there on out.
"

Later in her post, she also admits to using drugs herself; so much for not putting one's health at risk because 'OMG everyone should abstain from any kind of risky behavior just like me... I mean, oops.'  (I am not saying that drug use is terrible and you guys are so naughty for doing it, just pointing out her hypocrisy.)

She doesn't forget to mention how much her girlfriend loves her super skinny androgynous body mmm I was dying to know that! Good for you, bigot. I'm so proud that you're skinny and run all the time and do drugs! *clapclapclap*

Usually I feel like it's not worth the potential shit storm for saying something contrary to a person like that, but I gave her a relatively polite piece of my mind. UGHWOIHWEOIEWNOWINF!

I just got back from my month long South Island sheep work journey yesterday and I have to start school tomorrow, boo! I posted a lot of photos on facebook if you want to check them out. If you don't have facebook, comment and I'll send you a link! According to Google, I drove about 2,848 km. Here is a map that approximates my route:

I will be home for three weeks starting ONE MONTH from now!!! WOOHOO! I have a sneaky feeling that 2/3 or more of my time will be spent in the happy valley unless my lovely ladyfriend Lauren has already made it down to NYC. This means that if you are in the Noho/Amherst area between June 21 and July 10 we should hang out, especially if you're one of my favourite people (this is true for everyone on my buddy list, just to start with, not sure who else reads this)!

If you are somewhere else on the upper half of the east coast, I probably also want to try to see you!

I am so excited to see wonderful people, wonderful places, and wonderful weather! This of course is my 'winter' break in NZ, so it will be the entirety of my summer experience until next February. How strange it is to live in both hemispheres.

If you will be nearby while I am home AND want to see me (I hope I hope), comment or email me so I can pencil you in! If you don't write to me for some reason, I will probably still try to track you down ;) you have been warned.

Princess Bella requires assistance

Hello Everybody!

So I have a problem. My beloved bunny HRH Princess Bella Fuzzbutt currently does not have a home to go to. I am a co-parent with my ex-girlfriend and her housing situation makes it impossible for her to care for Bella starting this summer (starting in a couple of weeks). My housing situation is in NZ of course, or I would take her back in a millisecond.

So I thought I would ask everyone who reads this if they or someone they know might want to care for my Belly either temporarily or permanently. I am planning on coming back to the US permanently as soon as I can, and I can provide monetary support for her until I return. If you or your friend fall in love and don't want to return her, I will also understand. If we don't find a home, Bella will probably be going back to the shelter that we got her, or to one of the local MA bunny shelters. I know that both these places will find her a good home, but it breaks my heart to have to give her up without a chance of ever seeing her again, or without knowing that her new family loves her as much as I do.

If you have any ideas for me, please let me know. Oh, and here she is:

Just try to imagine the tiny crown on her head ;)

I went into the common room just now, and these three ladies from Samoa/Tonga who are generally very sweet/generous people were watching a gay couple fight on the show "Brothers and Sisters" ( I don't watch, but just in case you are familiar).

Anyway, the couple was arguing because guy A was leaving to do missionary work somewhere for up to a year and guy B didn't want him to go/wanted to be more important than whoever guy A was building a school for.

While they are fighting, the women are giggling on and off. One woman says "Oh my, this and abortion" (I'm assuming she meant gay people and *gasp* abortion were featured in the show).

When the fight ended and the guys walked into separate rooms- which was a serious moment, the women started laughing. Another one of the women said incredulously "they fight like couples!" OMG RLY?! A gay couple fights like a straight couple?! It's almost as if they love each other and have (dys)functional relationships JUST LIKE STRAIGHT PEOPLE.

Mind blowing people, really.

I'm glad that I don't really share my personal life with any of them. It's hard to deal with people who are really sweet but SO ignorant and closed-minded! ARGH! Sorry about the rant, nobody is around right now and I needed to get that out :-/

This is from an old article which I just found, my apologies if this is old news to you...

This from an article about birth control medication for men.
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/3543478/

Now I firmly believe in every person's right to choose whether or not they want to create biological offspring, but SRSLY???

“It is time for men to have some control. I think it would empower men and deter some women out there from their nefarious plans,” says Brown. “Some women are out there to use men to get pregnant. This could deter women from doing this. An athlete or a singer is someone who could be a target and they could put a stop to that.”

Nefarious plans?! ORLY? Yes- those poor, poor disenfranchised men. FINALLY they will have some power! Take THAT, you cruel, sperm stealin' women!

Make your own album cover, even without a band or anything! Lauren somehow found this, and I am a sheep. Baaaa. I have to say, I would follow her most places ;)
You can find the directions to make your own on www.myboyfriendisatwat.com

News and stuff

Way back when (last semester) I wrote an entry asking how I should try to contact a former girlfriend of mine who I had been missing. I don't even remember if I ended up writing to her then, but just yesterday SHE contacted ME! Whoa! I woke up and saw the e-mail while I was still in bed/trying to get my eyes to focus properly, and I thought it might be a mistake or a dream! It's only a tiny step forward, and I'm not assuming that we'll ever be close at all again- although I would welcome it, but it's definitely a start. PS- her name rhymes with 'matey'.

In other news, Jordan and I were having some serious communication and trust issues for far too long, but I think it's moar or less fixed! Yaaay! It definitely takes a weight off my lil' heart to feel more in balance with that relationship.

Also- I went rafting a couple of weekends ago near Taupo on the Waikato river. It was super cool, and I did some real roughing it for once. We still had porta-loos, but otherwise we were sleeping on the ground in tents and taking dips in river water to get 'clean'. Also, sand flies were the bane of my existence. But the river was sooo pretty, and there was some thermal activity that heated the water right along the edge of the beach. SWEET.

I was going to make this entry long and informative, but I have lost steam, ALAS. I will end with saying that LAUREN IS AMAZING. If you don't know her, I recommend fixing that, because she definitely makes my life brighter and shinier. Long distance sucks, but i think that both of our efforts are helping us generally sail through. Yay again!
